Our clinic and team

Established by Dr. Mike Fitzgerald in 1985, and partnered by experienced senior veterinarians and surgeons, Dr. Gerrit Tandetzke and Dr Tallulah Whitehead, and our skilled nursing team.

  • "I have been a client of Alstonville veterinary clinic for 25 years, in all my years I have found Dr Mike and his colleagues and vet nurses to be the most compassionate caring people when looking after my animals. Fantastic service and very reasonably priced."

    — Janet Goodwin

  • "When any of my pets need urgent care or help with end of life, Mike and his team are highly skilled at creating an environment that my pet feels calm and I feel confident. I like that the Vet offers all options available to me when making a decision for my pet.  It’s obvious the staff are all animals lovers."

    — Gail Woodgate

  • "Mike and his team have cared for our first and now second pair burmese cats for over twenty years. The level of care delivered has always been both highly professional, friendly and compassionate. I have no hesitation in recommending AVH to ensure the health and well-being of everyone’s pets."

    — Phil Crandon

  • "Alstonville Veterinary Hospital has been part of our family since we moved into the area 8 years ago. They seamlessly manage our angry cat through health checks. They have dealt with our now old dogs from split nails, lumpy bits to dislocated hips and snake bite. We now visit monthly for arthritis injections, which is a wonderful catch-up with friendly and supportive faces that treat us like family."
